Bird Control for Retail Stores

Birds love to flock wherever they can find shelter and food, and retail shops are no exception.  Birds of all kinds flock to retail stores including sparrows and seagulls.  Birds can become a nuisance once they make the store their home. They may also spread droppings throughout the area.
What's the best method to get rid of birds in a retail shop?

The best way to rid a bird infestation is to eliminate their food sources and to block off their nesting areas. Birds will be less attached to an area without food sources or nesting areas. Any bird deterrent measures will be more effective.

Eliminating bird food sources is the first step in fixing your bird problem. Birds love to eat food that is left out on the ground or from trash containers.  Closed trash containers can be replaced with dumpsters. Staff should also pick up food discarded frequently and remind people not feed birds.

Birds will not be attached to an area if they don't have food.

Next, you need to get rid of their nesting areas.  Birds prefer to nest in protected areas that offer protection against predators and the elements.  The roof of the store is a common place for birds to nest.  Bird netting can be used to net these areas.

Bird netting is the best bird deterrent. Bird netting is 100% effective when installed correctly.  Bird netting is the only bird repellent product that has the same level of exclusion.  Bird netting can be used to stop birds from nesting in protected areas as well as from perching or entering an area.  Birds will be kept out of an area with bird netting.

Next, consider whether there are birds nesting on the site. We recommend that you call a bird control company to inspect the area if birds are nesting.  It is illegal to move a bird's nest by yourself.  Bird nests can be hosts for parasites and diseases, as well as territorial birds. The Migratory Bird Act Treaty of 1918 protects most bird species. It makes it illegal to disturb or move nests.

Solid Avian Solutions, a bird control company, can help you identify your bird problem and determine the best course of action. They will also get permits to move nesting birds.  After the nesting birds have been removed, the company can place bird exclusion devices such as bird nets over any potential nesting areas to prevent them from returning.

Birds are often found in an area for their food or nesting grounds.  Most of your bird problems will be solved once you have removed their food sources and blocked their nesting areas.  You can add bird deterrents to further stop them from flying or perching in your area.

Bird spikes are designed to physically stop birds from perching on surfaces and ledges. These spikes are placed on roof lines, fences, ledges, and other places birds love to perch. Bird spikes are an effective method for bird control that is widely used around the globe.

Tension wire is another method for bird control. Tension wire is a wire that is spread over raised poles at different heights. Tension wire blocks birds from landing on surfaces, much like bird spikes. Tension wire is often preferred to bird spikes due to its low visibility. This works well if aesthetics is a consideration.

Another option for bird control is electric shock tracks.  Shock tracks can block ledges and other surfaces in the same way as bird spikes, tension wires, or bird spikes. Birds learn to avoid shock tracks. As a bird control tool, shock tracks can be placed on surfaces where birds land.

Angled ledges are another option for bird control.  A ledge that is 90 degrees from the ground (i.e. A ledge with a 90-degree angle (i.e. a flat surface and a wall behind it), is transformed into a diagonal surface that birds can slide off of if they attempt to land. This works great on these types of platforms. This is a great solution if you have these types of ledges in your retail store. This bird control device, which is also known as bird netting and bird netting, can be used to exclude birds from ledges.

Summary: Blocking their nesting areas and removing food sources are the best ways to get rid birds from a retail shop. Replacing open trash cans (including dumpsters), with closed trash containers is the best way to get rid of birds. Staff should also pick up food from the ground regularly and remind people not to feed them.

Next, you need to eliminate bird nesting areas. Bird netting can be used to block bird nesting areas. It is 100% effective if properly installed. Calling a bird controller is the best way to get rid of birds that have already nestled. They will then relocate them and install exclusionary methods such as bird netting.

This should solve most of your bird problems. To physically stop any birds from perching or hanging around, you can use bird spikes, tension wire, and electric shock tracks.
